As a Sr. Environmental Test Technician at CAES Lansdale, you’ll be the force behind proving our products can withstand the harshest conditions. Your work ensures mission-critical systems perform flawlessly in aerospace and defense environments. Here's how you'll lead the charge:
- Engineer the Test Strategy: Develop precise test specifications, methods, and procedures using technical drawings, standard work, and schematics
- Analyze & Report: Assist in crafting technical reports that summarize findings and recommend solutions to complex performance issues
- Maintain the Machines: Calibrate, enhance, and perform maintenance on environmental test equipment to ensure peak performance
- Decode the Diagrams: Read and interpret wire diagrams for environmental chambers with accuracy and confidence
- Repair & Restore: Troubleshoot and repair chambers, vibe tables, and systems used for temperature cycling, thermal shock, salt fog, and humidity testing
- Capture the Data: Use data acquisition tools like LabVIEW for real-time analysis and performance validation
- Design Smarter Setups: Create and refine test fixtures and setups that optimize accuracy and efficiency
- Lead with Expertise: May serve as a team lead within your functional area, guiding junior technicians and sharing best practices
- Stay Certified: Maintain all required certifications to uphold testing integrity and compliance
- Drive 6S Excellence: Recommend and implement 6S improvements to enhance safety, organization, and workflow
Minimum:
- Ability to work second shift (3:30pm to 1:00am)
- Minimum 2 years of environmental testing - vibration, shock, salt fog, humidity test and temperature cycle testing
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Timekeeping system, ERP system, Routing, etc.)
- Detail-oriented with good manual and eye dexterity (precise).
- This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a “US Person” under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred:
- 4 years of environmental testing - vibration, shock, salt fog, humidity test and temperature cycle testing
- Associates Degree or Technical Degree in Electrical Technology.
- Military Electronic Schools or Electronic Training from military.
- Active Security Clearance.
- Experience in defense or aerospace industry.
- Should be able to setup and know how to operate a Phase Network Analyzer (PNA) or Vector Network Analyzer (VNA).
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and embrace new challenges.
- Willingness to take on diverse projects and work with different teams.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.91 - $36.41 per hour
