Role Description This full-time Photographer role is on-site at CADY’s location in Matthews, NC. The Photographer will capture high-quality portraits and candid images of students, primarily in studio and school settings. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting up and breaking down equipment, managing lighting and camera settings, guiding students through poses, and ensuring a comfortable, professional experience during each session. The role involves organizing and backing up digital files, following established workflows, and collaborating with studio team members to maintain CADY’s visual standards and brand consistency. The Photographer will also support customer service efforts by interacting respectfully with students, families, and school staff, and by helping to maintain a clean, welcoming studio environment.
Qualifications
- Strong technical photography skills, including experience with DSLR or mirrorless cameras, studio lighting, and basic photo composition.
- Proficiency with photo editing software (such as Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop) and familiarity with digital file management and workflow.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work with students, families, and school personnel, with the ability to provide clear direction and create a positive session experience.
- Ability to work on-site full time in Matthews, NC, including occasional evenings and weekends as required by school and studio schedules.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and the capacity to follow brand guidelines and production processes consistently.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and move or set up photography equipment safely.
- Prior portrait or school photography experience is preferred; training or education in photography, visual arts, or a related field is a plus.
