Caduceus is seeking a skilled and dependable Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide onsite medical support at an active construction project. In this role, you will be a trusted resource for workers, site leadership, and safety teams by providing prompt medical attention, supporting injury prevention, and helping ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an EMT who enjoys working independently, staying calm under pressure, and making a meaningful impact outside of a traditional ambulance or emergency department setting.
Location: Smarr, GA
Schedule: 5 Days Per Week, 10 Hours Per Shifts
Engagement: 1099 Independent Contractor
Compensation: $24.00 - $30.00 Per Hour
What You’ll Do
- Provide first aid, basic medical assessments, and emergency response for onsite injuries and illnesses.
- Evaluate and triage workers and determine when outside medical care or emergency transport is needed.
- Perform services within your scope of certification, including vital signs, CPR, basic wound care, and splinting.
- Assist with occupational injury care and workers’ compensation documentation.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and confidential medical records and treatment reports.
- Communicate professionally with workers, supervisors, safety personnel, medical providers, and project leadership.
- Identify injury trends and share safety concerns or prevention recommendations.
- Maintain treatment areas, medical supplies, emergency equipment, and response kits.
- Support return-to-work evaluations and work restrictions as directed.
- Participate in safety meetings, health education, and injury-prevention initiatives.
- Follow all applicable medical, safety, infection-control, client, and construction-site protocols.
What We’re Looking For
- Current EMT certification recognized by the applicable state or governing authority.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Experience in emergency medical services, occupational medicine, industrial medicine, construction health, or a related setting preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment and the ability to respond calmly and effectively in urgent situations.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Professionalism, dependability, and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to complete required background screening, drug screening, physical examination, and site-specific safety training.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk throughout an active construction site and respond promptly to medical situations.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift or carry medical equipment and supplies.
- Ability to work safely in varying weather conditions and around construction-related hazards while wearing required personal protective equipment.
Independent Contractor Information
- This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity, not an employee position.
- Compensation will be provided according to the independent contractor agreement.
- The contractor is responsible for all applicable taxes and maintaining required licenses and certifications.
- Employee benefits, paid time off, and unemployment benefits are not provided.
