Key Responsibilities
- Operate scanning equipment, such as 3D scanners and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), to capture accurate images and measurements of components and products
- Follow established procedures and protocols for scanning, ensuring consistency and reliability in data collection
- Conduct thorough inspections of scanned components to identify defects, imperfections, or deviations from specifications
- Analyze scan data using specialized software to generate detailed reports, including dimensional measurements, surface analyses, and other relevant metrics
- Collaborate with engineering, quality control, and production teams to interpret scan results and address any issues or concerns identified during the scanning process
- Maintain scanning equipment in optimal condition, performing routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting as needed
- Document scan procedures, parameters, and results in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance scanning processes, efficiency, and accuracy
- Provide training and support to other team members on scanning techniques, equipment operation, and data analysis
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, including proper handling and storage of scanning equipment and materials
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience operating scanning equipment, such as 3D scanners or CMMs, in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong technical aptitude and proficiency in using scanning software and analysis tools
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and analyze subtle differences in scan data
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to scanning equipment and software
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of quality control principles and practices preferred
- Familiarity with CAD software and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) concepts is a plus
