Summary of Position
Cadre’s Transit division offers our clients technical rail service solutions including overhaul and testing of transit vehicles, warranty repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspection services. Our client is a major supplier to the OEM and requires a Commissioning Technician on site in Bellevue, WA to act as subject matter expert for the systems they have engineered and provided for the vehicle. The Commissioning Technician will support the installation, commissioning, and validation of new E-Suite equipment on Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs). The role includes executing routine and functional tests, troubleshooting technical issues, supporting field validation campaigns, and providing warranty support for vehicles in service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Remove OEM equipment and prepare vehicles for new E-Suite installation.
  • Install electrical panels, harnesses, and E-Suite components following engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Perform wiring, cable preparation, crimping, and connector assembly.
  • Execute commissioning and validation tests according to approved procedures.
  • Record, analyze, and report test results; document any anomalies or non-conformities.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control systems to identify root causes of issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support field validation campaigns and functional testing at customer sites.
  • Provide technical assistance during warranty activities and vehicle support operations.
  • Follow all company safety requirements and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Perform any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor or manager related to project execution.

Core Competencies
Technical Skills (Mandatory):
  • Skilled in the use of multimeters, meggers, hi-pots, and other electrical test instruments.
  • Strong capability using hand tools, crimpers, and electrical assembly equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, block diagrams, and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting faulty circuits and electrical systems.
  • Experience using power tools and machinery in an industrial environment.
Behavioral Skills (Desirable):
  • Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration across departments.
  • Communicates clearly and transparently with supervisors and peers.
  • Maintains safety awareness and professional conduct on the shop floor.

Requirements
Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical degree or certification in Electrical or Electronics preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in electrical installation, testing, or commissioning (rail, automotive, aerospace, or industrial equipment preferred).
Knowledge:
  • Solid understanding of 12VDC–72VDC electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with vehicle or equipment control systems and interfaces.
  • Basic knowledge of schematics, wire lists, and functional diagrams.

Working Conditions
  • Work will take place in a heavy industrial environment (shop floor and outdoor rail yard).
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work various shifts and overtime as required by project needs.
