What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatch Manager position at CADOGAN TATE NEW YORK LTD?
JOB SUMMARY
To schedule and plan either batches of trucks, both interstate and daily express vehicles, and crews, or the entire fleet and corresponding crews based on supporting dispatch employees’ schedules.
Confirm details of scheduled deliveries and collections
Assist with the completion of daily trucking schedules
Assist with the cross-referencing of BOLs and trip sheets to confirm all scheduled stops are logged correctly and ensure paperwork is complete
Assist with the completion and electronic filing of interstate manifests
Assist with mapping of the out-of-state and overnight trips to ensure the jobs can be completed within appropriate timeframes and monitor driver and crew weekly hours to avoid US regulations
When required, work on cost analysis of interstate trips to manage profitability of routes
Act as a business manager for interstate trips, generating business through client management teams when additional work is required to make trips operate profitably
When workload requires, assist with the receiving of all general calls and the recording of messages and distribution by email to the office members
Where required, be prepared to support the transport crews on the vehicles
Coordinate all vehicles inbound or outbound with the assistance of the operations manager and warehouse support team
Monitor DVIRs daily and report repairs; assist ops manager in scheduling repairs
Assist in management of overall truck maintenance
Monitor daily logbooks to compare drivers reported hours
Monitor transport crew’s cleanliness and condition of vehicles and loading dock upon daily return
Support Warehouse Manager and support crews to organize trucking docks about transport requirements
General
Ensure compliance with all HR policies and procedures, and all other Company policies and procedures in place
Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures
To act at all times in the best interests of Cadogan Tate, its customers and its employees
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
High school diploma / GED required
Have a good understanding of local express truck routes
Competent skills with MS Suite
Good understanding and experience of management and ability to communicate and train where required
Three years of experience in the art handling industry; packing, handling and installing on a local and interstate basis
Three years of logistical, warehousing and moving experience
Excellent problem-solving skills
Familiarity with DOT, FMCSA and OSHA regulations
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Impeccable communication and multitasking skills
Team player, able to work with all levels of staff in a dynamic environment
Comfortable in a results-driven workplace
Ability to safely lift 70 pounds and maneuver objects of substantial size and weight daily without damage to object or person, including the ability to push and pull 150 pounds on a dolly or cart
Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and reach overhead
Salary : $71,000
