A-Level Technician at Cadillac of Englewood Cliffs

Cadillac of Englewood Cliffs has an opportunity for an A-Level Technician to join the team! Duties/Responsibilities

• Performs work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and Cadillac factory standards
• Diagnoses the cause of malfunctions and performs necessary repairs on Cadillac vehicles, including electrical, drivability, suspension, powertrain, luxury systems, and EV-related concerns
• Utilizes GM diagnostic equipment and service information systems to identify and resolve vehicle concerns
• Communicates with the Parts Department to obtain necessary parts and materials
• Saves and tags parts as required for warranty claims or customer requests
• Examines assigned vehicles to determine whether additional safety, maintenance, or repair work is required or recommended
• Communicates immediately with the Service Advisor regarding additional work needed, unnecessary repairs identified, or delays affecting promised completion times
• Documents all diagnostic procedures, repairs performed, and recommendations on repair orders
• Conducts road tests and quality-control inspections as required
• Participates in Cadillac and General Motors manufacturer-sponsored training programs, certification courses, and technical updates
• Maintains current knowledge of Cadillac technical service bulletins, recalls, and emerging technologies
• Assists in training and mentoring apprentice and B-Level technicians
• Reports equipment malfunctions or shop maintenance concerns to management
• Ensures customer vehicles are maintained in a clean condition and promptly reports any changes to vehicle appearance or condition
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Maintains accountability for dealership-owned tools, equipment, and service manuals
• Understands and complies with all federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA standards, hazardous waste disposal requirements, and dealership safety policies
• Operates all tools and equipment safely and responsibly
• Reports any safety concerns immediately to management
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

• Valid state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Minimum five (5) years of experience as an automotive technician, with luxury vehicle or Cadillac experience preferred
• Extensive knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostic procedures, and repair techniques
• Advanced proficiency in electrical diagnostics, drivability diagnostics, and network communication systems
• Experience with Cadillac luxury technologies, driver assistance systems, infotainment systems, and electric vehicle platforms
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information to Service Advisors, management, and customers when necessary
• Ability to conduct thorough vehicle inspections and accurately identify maintenance and repair needs
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with dealership management systems, manufacturer service information systems, and Microsoft Office Suite

Education and Experience

• Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Completion of an accredited automotive technology program preferred
• Five (5) or more years of progressive automotive repair experience required
• Previous experience as a B-Level Technician strongly preferred
• Luxury automotive dealership experience preferred
• Electric vehicle service experience preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• GM Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications preferred
• Cadillac Master Technician Certification preferred
• GM EV Certified Technician
• GM High Voltage Battery Repair Certification
• GM World Class Technician (WCT) Certification preferred
• ASE Master Automobile Technician Certification preferred
• New Jersey State Inspector License (or applicable state inspection license)
• EPA Section 609 A/C Refrigerant Certification
• Valid Driver's License

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and working in automotive shop environments
• Must be able to regularly lift and move up to fifty (50) pounds
• Must be able to operate automotive diagnostic equipment, power tools, and shop machinery
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions typically found in a service department
• Visual and manual dexterity sufficient to safely diagnose and repair vehicles
