Job description:
The client is an established Main Line law firm with an interesting collection of prominent cases and clients seeking a paralegal to join our quickly growing team. A majority of our caseload is civil litigation; however, we also handle real estate, corporate, transactional, IP, employment and trusts and estates. We're looking for someone ready to join a team of professionals who enjoy what they do and working together.
Position Summary:
Work collaboratively and independently to provide support and assistance to attorneys in a variety of legal services, to screen potential clients and represent the team when greeting visitors to the office.
Responsibilities:
· Correspondence and communications with clients
· Greeting visitors and answering calls
· Court filings
· Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
· Maintain case deadlines
· Maintain records, document interactions and prepare reports
· Maintain multiple schedules and keep up to date
· Provide regular notices to attorneys of upcoming deadlines
· Perform conflicts checks, maintain office confidentiality
Contributions to the Firm will be measured by:
· Consistent Reliability Provided to Attorneys – measured by consistent excellent ratings in semi-annual and annual assessments in the category of Paralegal.
· Excellence in Work Products – measured by consistent excellent ratings in semi-annual and annual performance assessments in the category of Paralegal.
· Work Self-Sufficiently with Continuous Productivity – measured by completion of tasks without missing deadlines.
· Maintain collegial attitude and atmosphere in office.
· Contributing ideas/suggestions for improvements.
Education Requirement:
· Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. A minimum of 2-4 years of related work experience is required; 5-8 years of experience preferred.
· A Paralegal Certificate is required.
Qualifications and Attributes:
· Pennsylvania State and Federal Court filing systems.
· Ability to navigate rules of civil procedure in both state and federal court
· Ability to multitask; excellent organizational skills; effective communication skills
· Strong attention to detail; perform tasks with a sense of urgency.
Required Applications:
Standard workplace applications with a basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel; knowledge of filing systems and online research systems a plus.
