Security Officer - Part Time

Job Overview

Cadence Protective Services, a veteran-owned and operated company, is seeking a professional and dependable Guardhouse Security Officer to join our team. This position plays a key role in maintaining a secure environment by monitoring access points, verifying credentials, and providing a visible security presence. The ideal candidate will demonstrate vigilance, strong communication skills, and a commitment to excellence in client service while upholding the integrity of Cadence Protective Services.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to the property from the guardhouse, ensuring only authorized personnel, residents, and visitors are permitted entry.
• Verify identification, log vehicle and visitor information, and issue passes when required.
• Maintain surveillance of entrance areas using security systems and cameras.
• Conduct regular perimeter checks and coordinate with mobile patrol officers when necessary.
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies, assessing situations and taking appropriate action.
• Enforce community or site rules and regulations with professionalism and courtesy.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting residents, guests, and vendors.
• Prepare and maintain accurate daily activity logs, incident reports, and visitor records.
• Communicate effectively with Cadence Protective Services leadership and clients regarding security matters.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency personnel as required.
• Utilize de-escalation and conflict resolution skills to handle challenging situations calmly.
• Provide first aid or CPR assistance if needed (training will be provided if not already certified).

Qualifications

• Prior experience in security, military, or law enforcement is preferred but not required.
• Strong observational skills with the ability to identify and report potential risks.
• Knowledge of guardhouse operations, visitor management, and CCTV monitoring is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional appearance, demeanor, and customer service skills.
• Ability to remain alert, focused, and calm in high-pressure situations.
• Must be physically capable of responding quickly to incidents.
• Certification in First Aid/CPR preferred, or willingness to obtain.
• Must meet all licensing and training requirements as mandated by state law.
