OEM On‑Site Customer Liaison Engineer -- Automotive Electronics

Location: Northville, Michigan

Engagement: Approx. one-year contract

Work Arrangement: 100% onsite, Day Shift

Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM (occasional weekend work based on project needs)

Pay: $35.00–$40.00 per hour

It’s 8:00 AM in Northville. You’re the first call when our key OEM partner needs answers. By 9:00, you’ve aligned program milestones with the customer’s build calendar and briefed stakeholders on risk mitigations. Before lunch, you’ve reviewed PRTS items, kicked off an Engineering Change Request, and run a quick CAN/LIN trace in CANoe to verify a suspected network issue. The afternoon brings hardware validation, a checkpoint with our internal engineering teams, and a polished status update to close the day—clear, confident, and customer-ready.

• Customer ambassador: Serve as the primary on-site technical representative, delivering a high-touch, consultative experience and owning the customer relationship.
• Program leadership (TPM): Drive timelines, track milestones, synchronize engineering deliverables with customer expectations, and proactively manage technical risk.
• Executive-ready communication: Lead meetings and presentations; provide clear, proactive updates on status, test progress, and issue resolution.
• Cross-functional bridge: Convert customer requirements into actionable technical deliverables for internal engineering teams.

• Issue tracking (PRTS): Own the full lifecycle of problem identification through closure using the Problem Resolution Tracking System.
• Change management (ECR): Draft, manage, and process Engineering Change Requests to document and execute hardware/system updates.
• Testing & validation: Support electronics testing, hardware validation, and troubleshooting for automotive components to meet rigorous quality standards.
• Network analysis: Analyze and validate CAN and LIN communications using industry-standard diagnostic tools, including CANoe and vFlash.

• Solid grounding in industrial automation and basic electronics.
• Proven Technical Program Management experience: schedule execution, risk management, and cross-functional leadership.
• Hands-on expertise with CAN and LIN networks.
• Proficiency with CANoe and vFlash.
• Understanding of production processes, test cycles, ECR workflows, and PRTS stewardship.
• Fluency with MS Project and Excel for tracking, documentation, and reporting.
