Machine Operator - Minerva, Ohio
Three-month contact, potential contract-to-hire
Pay Rate: $16.24 per hour (plus shift differential $16.69/hr. for 2nd shift, $16.64/hr. for 3rd shift)

Position Description of the Machine Operator:
Our Machine Operators fill a vital role in the manufacturing process, as they machine the components for our products and act as the first line of defense in the quality control process. They work as a team to produce high-quality components, catch errors, and resolve issues on the fly throughout each day. They take ownership of their work and strive to produce the very best each day. Our customer is seeking experienced Machine Operators who take pride in their work and enjoy being in an engaging environment where their input and suggestions are valued.

Responsibilities of the Machine Operator:

• Run the first piece and verify that it meets all of the specifications. Receive confirmation from the Department Supervisor or Quality Associate before running the batch
• Operate machine to run the batch of components, continually verifying that the produced parts meet all quality standards and specifications
• Use gauges to ensure produced components meet all specifications and requirements
• Make mechanical adjustments as necessary to keep parts within specifications
• Pack finished products as instructed
• Complete all needed documentation and tagging for each tub of material
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines (adding oils and fluids as needed, cleaning, and changing bits)
• Keep a safety-first mindset by following all safety rules and operating in a safe manner
• Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements of the Machine Operator:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of automotive/manufacturing experience
• Ability to interpret specifications and drawings and blueprints
• Knowledge of the Metric System (Microns, Millimeters, etc.)
• Able to use gauges to measure parts and ensure they stay within the acceptable tolerances
• Basic math skills (addition and subtraction of decimal numbers)
• Able to troubleshoot issues in a timely manner and know when to ask for help
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Job involves lifting up to 50 pounds, exerts 25 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and exerts 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Required to push, pull, twist, reach, stand, walk, grip, and bend

• Must be able to pass drug test
