CAD/CAM Machine, Inc. is a growing, family-owned aerospace CNC machining shop located in the Farmington Valley area (Burlington/Avon), CT. We are seeking experienced CNC Setup Machinists for both our Lathe and Milling departments. Join a stable company with modern equipment and challenging precision work for aerospace customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform full setups and 1st piece verification on CNC machines
- Operate Okuma lathes and/or Matsuura 3/4/5-axis mills
- Edit and troubleshoot G-code programs as needed
- Read and interpret complex 2D drawings, blueprints, and solid models
- Perform in-process inspections using precision gages and tools
- Train and support machine operators on proper procedures
- Troubleshoot machine issues and contribute to process improvements
- Maintain high quality standards in a fast-paced ITAR-compliant environment
- Work collaboratively with setup technicians and the team
- Clean and deburr precision parts
- Perform visual inspections of machined components
- Assist with office/clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, driving and organization
- Help maintain a clean and organized work environment
Requirements:
- 3 years of CNC setup experience (lathe and/or milling)
- Strong familiarity with Okuma lathes and/or Matsuura mills (especially 5-axis) is highly preferred
- Proficient in G-code editing and program optimization
- Excellent blueprint reading and precision inspection skills
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be authorized to work in the United States (ITAR facility)
Compensation & Benefits:
- $26–$35 per hour, depending on experience and specific skills (higher end for strong multi-axis and dual lathe/mill capability)
