Job Title: Operations and Events Manager
Status/Compensation: Exempt full-time position. Competitive salary starting at $65,000 per year plus job related expense reimbursement. Opportunity for commissions if thresholds are met.
Organization: The Arizona Cactus League Baseball Association
Location: State Farm Stadium, Glendale, Arizona (work onsite a minimum of 2-3 days per week)
About Us: The Cactus League serves as a vital economic engine and a primary driver of tourism in Arizona. Founded in 1947, the Cactus League has become a haven for baseball enthusiasts, boasting 10 ballparks that host 15 Major League Baseball teams. As a unified voice for the industry, the Cactus League Baseball Association is dedicated to safeguarding, enhancing, and promoting spring training while actively engaging with communities and contributing to Arizona’s exceptional quality of life.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate association events, including job fairs, game day Hall of Fame ceremonies, Golf Tournament, Security, Legislative Day, and the annual appreciation event.
- Provide on-site support during events, addressing any operational or logistical challenges as they arise.
- Facilitate and coordinate operations, marketing, and other committee meetings as required.
- Participate in various networking and partner events, community outreach and education.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to identify potential sponsors, prepare sponsorship proposals and presentations, and aid in negotiating and executing sponsorship agreements.
- Oversee sponsorship sales, fulfillment, and stadium activation coordination.
- Assist in developing and implementing event budgets, monitoring expenses, and maintaining financial and sponsorship records.
- Supervise seasonal volunteers and interns as needed.
- Serve as the primary contact for participating team and operations members, offering support and assistance leading up to and during spring training activities.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Event Management, Marketing or related field
· Minimum two years related experience a must; nonprofit experience a plus.
· Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office, Constant Contact, Adobe and Canva.
· Advanced written and oral communication skills, excellent phone manner and ability to work independently.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
· Industry knowledge and commitment to the association mission is a plus.
