SUMMARY: The Milk Receiver is responsible for receiving raw milk deliveries, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards, and accurately documenting all incoming products. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product integrity and supporting the production process in a food manufacturing facility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Verify tanker seals, temperature, and milk quality upon arrival
- Collect and test milk samples for compliance with regulatory and company standards (e.g., antibiotics, temperature, odor)
- Operate pumps, valves, and related equipment to transfer milk from tanker to storage silos
- Ensure proper sanitation of hoses and connections before and after unloading
- Complete receiving logs, quality test records, and inventory updates accurately
- Maintain compliance with state and federal dairy regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA)
- Clean and sanitize receiving area and equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Follow all food safety, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and HACCP guidelines.
- Coordinate with drivers, quality assurance, and production teams regarding delivery schedules and issues
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education requirement equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of dairy or food manufacturing experience preferred
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality testing procedures
- Ability to operate pumps, valves, and CIP (Clean-In-Place) systems
- Strong attention to detail and recordkeeping skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIORNMENT:
Required to maneuver plant and warehouse workspaces which involve:
- Frequently standing, walking, sitting, talking, or hearing, work around loud machinery and moving parts
- Continually utilize hand and finger dexterity, continually exposed to extreme heat, extreme cold, wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather)
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, exposed to outside weather conditions, and push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds safely
- Requires standing for extended periods and handling heavy hoses.
