**GENERAL SUPPORT**
Support in generating written work-product Drafting correspondence, motions, pleadings Cite checking briefs Creating table of authorities and content Prepare supporting exhibits for ECFs
**DISCOVERY, PRE-TRIAL AND TRIAL SUPPORT**
Assist with all phases of discovery Arranging and scheduling depositions Coordinating with expert witnesses Preparing exhibits for pre-trial and trials Coordinating witnesses for trial Assist at trial using trial presentation software, Trial Director
**GENERAL SUPPORT**
Maintaining case files Case View data entry Preparing paperwork for case openings and closings Case closings
**PROFESSIONALISM**
Receives visitors and callers Provide case information as needed Manage the service room window by receiving hand delivered complaints served on the U.S. Attorney Establish and maintain good working relationships with all members of the U.S. Attorney's Office staff Accepts supervision and responds to constructive criticism from supervisory personnel Follows office policy and exercises sound judgment in deciding when to seek supervisory input and assistance Keeps supervisors informed of developments and difficulties in assignments Adheres to requirements and policies for telework
Part Time Remote, 2-3 days a week in the office
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Paralegal Cert, Paralegal Studies or JD required
1 years of experience in a legal/paralegal role and environment
Performs moderately legal research
Review investigative reports, testimonies, interviews, files, and documents for a variety of, criminal cases to become familiar with the issues
Reads and analyzes reports of investigating agencies
Sorts through and reads subpoenaed documents
Identifies and summarizes portions that may be relevant to particular cases.
Participates and assists in preparation for trial by compiling, organizing, and indexing various evidentiary exhibits.
Marks and identifies trial exhibits and drafts a list of exhibits to be offered at trial.
Range of paralegal tasks include, but are not limited to copying, mailing, closing files, maintaining pleadings.
The contractor works in an office setting; some walking, standing, bending and carrying of small office items is requires.
