Kitchen Helper

Job Summary

Cache is seeking a dependable and hardworking Kitchen Helper to support daily kitchen operations and help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient food preparation environment. The ideal candidate will be a team player who follows instructions carefully, works well under pressure, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

The Kitchen Helper will assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation, ingredient organization, dishwashing, cleaning, and restocking supplies. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in gaining experience in a professional restaurant kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist cooks and kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks.
• Wash, peel, cut, and organize ingredients as instructed.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen counters, preparation areas, and equipment.
• Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and food preparation tools.
• Store ingredients properly and follow food labeling procedures.
• Restock kitchen supplies and food preparation stations.
• Help receive and organize deliveries when needed.
• Dispose of waste properly and maintain a tidy kitchen environment.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines.
• Assist with kitchen setup before service and cleanup after service.
• Communicate supply shortages or kitchen concerns to the supervisor.
• Support other kitchen team members during busy service periods.

Requirements

• Previous kitchen or food service experience is helpful but not always required.
• Willingness to learn kitchen procedures and follow directions.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Dependable, punctual, and organized work habits.
• Basic understanding of cleanliness and food safety.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift routine kitchen supplies safely.
