Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to ophthalmologists and assist in delivering high-quality patient care. You will be responsible for performing various clinical tasks, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Duties

  • Conduct patient intake, including gathering medical history and performing initial assessments.
  • Measure and record required data accurately.
  • Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical environment.
  • Utilize EMR systems such as Epic and Modernizing Medicine for documentation of patient information and medical records.
  • Collaborate with the ophthalmology team to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Support front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.
  • Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding/billing practices.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ophthalmology practices and optical experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Experience with EMR systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and customer service.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks.
