Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to ophthalmologists and assist in delivering high-quality patient care. You will be responsible for performing various clinical tasks, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Duties
- Conduct patient intake, including gathering medical history and performing initial assessments.
- Measure and record required data accurately.
- Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical environment.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Epic and Modernizing Medicine for documentation of patient information and medical records.
- Collaborate with the ophthalmology team to ensure efficient workflow.
- Support front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding/billing practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with ophthalmology practices and optical experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Experience with EMR systems.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and customer service.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks.
