About the Role

Cache River Mill & MetalWorks is seeking a detail-oriented Architectural CAD Drafter to join our dynamic team of engineers and designers. In this role, you'll transform design concepts into precise technical plans, ensuring our projects are built to the highest standards of functionality, quality, and aesthetics.

This position offers a unique opportunity to learn and master two powerful design tools: Cabinet Vision, a cabinet screen-to-machine software, and OnShape, a cutting-edge 3D CAD platform. By leveraging these tools, you will help us streamline production and create custom millwork and metalwork solutions that exceed client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to gather project requirements and specifications.
  • Utilize Cabinet Vision to create precise cabinet and millwork designs, generate cut lists, and optimize production workflows.
  • Leverage OnShape to develop detailed 3D models and technical drawings for complex projects, enabling efficient collaboration and innovation.
  • Calculate dimensions, material needs, and equipment requirements for each project.
  • Develop step-by-step production methods, specifying the tools, equipment, and software to be used.
  • Prepare and refine rough sketches in consultation with the engineering team.
  • Identify and address potential operational issues, suggesting redesigns to enhance functionality.
  • Ensure all designs comply with industry regulations and company quality standards.
  • Produce operation and maintenance manuals for completed products.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Drafter or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software; experience with Cabinet Vision and OnShape is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling tools and the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical field, or a degree from a technical college.
  • Certification from the American Design Drafting Association (ADDA) is a plus.
