Architectural Drafter / Millwork Designer

Cache River Mill & MetalWorks
North Little Rock, Arkansas

Design Projects That Get Built.

At Cache River Mill & MetalWorks, we don't build stock cabinets.

We design and manufacture custom architectural millwork, commercial casework, high-end doors, mouldings, furniture, feature walls, and specialty fabrication for projects across the country.

We're looking for an Architectural Drafter / Millwork Designer who enjoys solving problems, thinking in three dimensions, and creating production-ready designs that become real.

Whether you're already an experienced Cabinet Vision user or you've mastered another 3D drafting platform, we'd like to talk with you.

What You'll Do

As part of our engineering team, you'll transform architectural drawings and concepts into detailed manufacturing plans for our production floor.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing custom millwork and casework
  • Creating production-ready shop drawings
  • Producing detailed 3D models
  • Collaborating with project managers, estimators, and production
  • Reviewing architectural plans and specifications
  • Developing cut lists, machining details, and assembly information
  • Working directly with our CNC manufacturing equipment
  • Helping solve unique construction and fabrication challenges

Every project is different. If you enjoy variety and problem-solving, you'll fit right in.

What We're Looking For

We understand that experienced Cabinet Vision designers are hard to find.

If you already know Cabinet Vision, that's a huge plus.

If you have experience with other 3D design or manufacturing software and enjoy learning new technology, we encourage you to apply.

Examples include:

  • Cabinet Vision
  • Microvellum
  • AutoCAD
  • SolidWorks
  • Inventor
  • Solid Edge
  • Autodesk Fusion
  • SketchUp
  • Revit
  • Rhino
  • TopSolid
  • AlphaCAM
  • Mozaik
  • Cabinet Pro
  • Onshape
  • Other parametric or manufacturing-based CAD software

The right attitude and ability to learn are just as important as experience with any specific software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating shop drawings
  • Ability to read architectural plans
  • Strong understanding of construction methods
  • Experience with custom cabinetry, millwork, woodworking, or manufacturing
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

What Makes This Position Different?

This isn't a job where you'll design the same kitchen every day.

One week you may be engineering:

  • Custom reception desks
  • Commercial casework
  • Luxury residential millwork
  • Monumental stair components
  • Feature walls
  • Solid wood doors
  • Decorative mouldings
  • Museum-quality architectural details

If you enjoy challenging projects that require creativity and precision, you'll love this role.

Why Cache River?

We combine old-world craftsmanship with cutting-edge manufacturing technology.

Our facility features advanced CNC machining, custom moulding equipment, precision manufacturing systems, and a talented team that takes pride in building exceptional work.

You'll have the opportunity to grow your skills while helping create projects you'll be proud to point to for years.
