The Part-time Development Coordinator is responsible for implementing key elements of CRIC’s fundraising strategy. This role involves working closely with the Executive Director and other staff and board to support donor cultivation, relationship management, and other aspects of fundraising. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, proactive, strategic thinker with a background in relationship building and donor stewardship. This is a part-time position with the potential to develop into full-time.

Donor Strategy and Management (40%)

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director, Director of Finance and Operations, and the Board of Directors to identify fundraising opportunities and appropriate strategies
  • Support Executive Director in the logistics of cultivating and maintaining relationships with individual donors and corporate partners
  • Coordinate with event managers as needed for auctions, sales fundraisers, or other efforts that include individual giving
  • Assist with messaging and storytelling strategies, in coordination with other staff

Donation solicitation management (40%)

  • Manage fundraising campaigns, including mail and online fundraising efforts
  • Assist with drafting and design of fundraising appeal letters, emails, and social media posts
  • Coordinate on social media messaging with other staff
  • Assist with maintenance of internal and external websites relevant to fundraising
  • Primary point of contact with individuals interested in holding third-party fundraisers
  • Participation in or coordination of local fundraising events
  • Comply with all fundraising laws, ethical standards, and best practices

Donation tracking and reporting (15%)

  • Enter donations into Salesforce, timely and accurately
  • Prepare and mail all necessary manual acknowledgment letters
  • Manage CRIC’s donation platform and event/campaign pages
  • Provide regular reporting to assist with strategy development
  • Provide support and tracking for major gifts solicitation by ED or board
  • Assist with quarterly reconciliations and year-end donation summary letters

General (5%)

  • Participate in staff meetings, events, and other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong writer
  • Extremely detail-oriented and accurate with work tasks
  • Highly organized
  • Comfortable with new situations and new people
  • Comfortable using and learning databases and other applications
  • Culturally sensitive
  • Computer proficient, including Microsoft Office and Google applications
  • Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidential relationships
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Completed degree, bachelors or higher preferred
  • Nonprofit fundraising experience, with demonstrated past success
  • Knowledge of donor management systems (CRM software) and fundraising best practices
  • Event management experience
  • Newsletter or graphic design experience
  • Experience working collaboratively with executive leadership and boards
  • Experience with multicultural and multilingual populations
  • Experience fundraising on social media
  • Experience working with refugee or immigrant social service programs
