Job Title: Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable (AP/AR) Clerk

Job Summary:
The AP/AR Clerk is responsible for managing both the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions of the company. This role ensures timely processing of vendor payments, accurate invoicing of clients, and reconciliation of financial records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling multiple financial tasks with efficiency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable (AP):
- Receive, review, and verify vendor invoices and expense reports
- Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices
- Enter and code invoices into the accounting system
- Prepare and process check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers
- Maintain vendor files and handle inquiries regarding payments
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Generate and send customer invoices based on project or service delivery
- Record incoming payments via check, ACH, credit card, or wire
- Monitor accounts for overdue payments and follow up with customers
- Apply payments to customer accounts and maintain accurate aging reports
- Prepare AR reports for management and assist with collections efforts
General Accounting Support:
- Assist with month-end closing procedures
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation
- Assist with audits, reporting, and special projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
- 2 years of experience in AP/AR or general accounting
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage time and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in [IT / MSP], if applicable
- Familiarity with ERP systems
- Knowledge of GAAP principles
