Role Description The SVP Sales – Structured Products is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY, responsible for originating, developing, and growing structured products business with institutional clients. This role includes managing and expanding relationships with asset managers, pension funds, banks, insurance companies, and other institutional investors, with a focus on distribution of structured notes, asset-backed products, and other customized solutions. The SVP will coordinate closely with trading, structuring, and investment banking teams to design client-specific products, execute transactions, and provide market color and product education. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting new clients, managing a sales pipeline, preparing and delivering pitches, monitoring markets and product performance, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and firm policies. The role also involves mentoring junior team members, contributing to strategic business planning, and representing Cabrera at client meetings, conferences, and industry events.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in sales and distribution of structured products (e.g., structured notes, asset-backed securities, rate- and equity-linked products) to institutional clients.
- Proven track record of originating, pitching, and closing complex capital markets transactions within an investment bank or institutional broker-dealer environment.
- Deep understanding of fixed income, derivatives, capital markets, and risk/return characteristics of structured products, including pricing, documentation, and lifecycle management.
- Strong relationship management skills with established contacts across institutional investors such as asset managers, insurance companies, banks, pensions, and hedge funds.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities, with capacity to explain sophisticated products in a clear, client-centered manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with trading, structuring, legal, compliance, and operations teams in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity, sound judgment, and rigorous adherence to regulatory and compliance standards, including relevant SEC/FINRA rules.
