Position Summary & Purpose

The Financial Analyst supports the Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department, with particular emphasis on account reconciliation, tabular and graphical analysis, and process implementation and documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Write and debug programs for processing trading data on a daily and monthly basis
  • Maintain bank account reconciliations and implement process improvements
  • Support the creation and maintenance of various accounting schedules (depreciation, lease liabilities, prepaids, etc.)
  • Manage the usage of programs and assist with resolving errors
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of connections with external platforms
  • Leverage AI and other technology tools to develop and maintain accounting processes
  • Reconcile firm credit card activity
  • Assist with the reconciliation of monthly general ledger accounts
  • Maintain daily and monthly account reconciliations
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements

  • 1 year or more years of finance experience
  • Must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), programming (Python, VBA), and computational and statistical data analysis
  • 1 year or more years of Broker Dealer experience highly preferred
  • Proficiency with accounting software (Oracle preferred)
  • Detail and deadline oriented with excellent time management skills
  • Experience using project management tools (e.g., Monday.com) to assist with task tracking, collaboration, and timely completion of deliverables.
  • Ability to multi-task projects

Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, and/or Computer Science, Information Technology (preferred)

The employee is frequently required to use a desktop computer, laptop, multiple monitors, keyboard, and other standard office equipment, including desk phones and/or mobile phones, for extended periods of time. The employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, stoop, and lift or move items weighing up to 15 pounds.

 

This position is primarily performed in a professional office environment within a broker-dealer and trading floor setting. The position may involve prolonged periods of desk work and computer usage, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities and work under deadlines. The work environment is generally fast-paced and may include frequent interruptions, multiple simultaneous conversations, ringing phones, market alerts, and elevated noise levels. Employees seated on or near the trading floor may be exposed to raised voices, active trading activity, and ongoing television or financial news broadcasts, particularly during periods of increased market activity or volatility. The employee must be able to maintain professionalism, concentration, and effective communication in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment.

Salary : $60,000 - $90,000
