Job Overview
Registered Dietician will oversee all operations of kitchen and be responsible for nutrition as it pertains to patients presenting to both Cabot Emergency Hospital and up and coming Fort Smith ER & Hospital The Registered Dietician will comply with Hospital Rules and Regulations set forth by Arkansas Department of Health.

Duties
- Review food temperature logs kept by foodservice department.
- Complete nutritional assessments on patients determined to be at a nutritional risk. Nutritional risk can be determined by nursing screening parameters. Some examples of nutrition risk include: underweight status, morbid obesity, presence of pressure ulcers, need for nutritional support, and other chronic or acute conditions with nutritional implications. Nutrition education will also be completed on a consul basis. Nutrition risk will be defined and determined in a policy and procedure manual.
- Review and approve established menu to verify food served meets the nutritional quality guidelines.
- Conduct food preparation and/or food storage inspections monthly to verify sanitary food preparation conditions.
- Dietitian will be available for quarterly meetings if requested by hospital leadership.
- Dietician will serve as foodservice director, overseeing all food ordering, menu writing, and recipe development.
- RD will have 24 hours to complete nutrition assessment if deemed necessary based on nutrition risk assessment.
- RD will maintain appropriate records including peer chart reviews, review of food temperature logs, and completed nutritional assessments.
- A productivity report will be due to hospital administration monthly.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Certified by the State as a registered dietician and must maintain current Licensure
- Completes annual educational requirements and/or competencies
