Cablenet Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled Assembly Technician III to join our Production Department. This role is responsible for assembling and inspecting electrical harnesses in accordance with engineering drawings, travelers, and customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with cable prep, crimping, soldering, and maintaining critical dimensions, while adhering to IPC-620, NASA-STD, and other workmanship standards.
What You’ll Do
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and notes
- Verify traveler documentation for accuracy (part numbers, revisions, quantities)
- Inspect materials for damage or defects
- Prep cables—including cutting, de-jacketing, stripping
- Perform hand crimping on 8–28 AWG using stamped and machined contacts
- Execute basic soldering, including tinning and using both leaded and lead-free solder
- Identify solder types (leaded vs. lead-free)
- Complete potting tasks: boots, connectors, breakouts
- Build assemblies to exact critical dimensions within tolerance
- Ensure all work meets IPC-620 and other required workmanship standards
- Sign travelers after completing each process step
- Properly identify, package, and label materials and assemblies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation
- Follow all company and industry safety requirements
- Additional duties as assigned
What You Bring
Core Competencies
- Ability to work with hand tools, inspection tools, and measuring equipment
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and electrical schematics
- Experience operating stripping machines, crimping machines, and manual tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Good vision, hearing, and manual dexterity
- Basic understanding of IPC-620
- Basic soldering experience
- Commitment to following ISC policies and procedures
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar manufacturing or assembly role
- Experience in a contract manufacturing environment preferred
Physical Requirements
- Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 25 lbs unassisted
- Stand or walk for prolonged periods
- Sit and perform station-based tasks for extended periods
- Perform repetitive hand and body movements
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace
- Report to work free from alcohol, drugs, or impairing substances
- Participate in safety activities and report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately
