Manufacturing Engineering & Maintenance Supervisor

Cablecraft is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineering & Maintenance Supervisor to join our St. Matthews, South Carolina manufacturing team. This is a unique hybrid leadership role for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, improving manufacturing processes, and leading maintenance operations.
In this position, you'll spend time both on the production floor and in the office, partnering with production, quality, and operations to improve equipment reliability, increase productivity, reduce downtime, and support new manufacturing initiatives. If you're equally comfortable troubleshooting machinery, leading maintenance technicians, designing process improvements, and driving continuous improvement, we'd like to hear from you.
Manufacturing Engineering
- Provide daily technical support for production equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing, tooling, and equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Design and improve tooling, fixtures, workstations, and manufacturing processes.
- Evaluate production methods to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Support new equipment installations, process validations, and capital projects.
- Develop and maintain work instructions, engineering documentation, and manufacturing standards.
- Partner with Production and Quality to improve process capability and product consistency.
Maintenance Leadership
- Supervise and develop the maintenance team while establishing a culture of accountability and preventive maintenance.
- Plan, prioritize, and coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Ensure rapid response to equipment breakdowns while minimizing production interruptions.
- Develop maintenance schedules and improve equipment reliability.
- Monitor maintenance KPIs including downtime, PM completion, equipment performance, and maintenance costs.
- Coordinate contractors, outside service providers, and facility improvement projects.
- Maintain maintenance documentation, work orders, and equipment records.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process improvements, and equipment upgrades.
- Participate in cross-functional continuous improvement projects.
- Support 5S, Root Cause Analysis, TPM, and other operational excellence initiatives.
- Lead projects that improve equipment uptime, throughput, and overall manufacturing performance.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the facility.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and company safety standards.
- Support environmental, facility, and equipment compliance initiatives.
- Participate in safety investigations and corrective actions when necessary.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience troubleshooting industrial manufacturing equipment.
- Experience leading maintenance activities, engineering projects, or technical teams.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Pay: $74,581.59 - $95,000.00 per year
