What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cable Assembly Associates (temp-to-hire) position at Cable Quest?
Qualified and experienced candidates are encouraged to apply in person at Cable Quest, 105 Heather Ct., Ball Ground, GA 30107 from Monday to Friday from 12 noon to 2pm.
*This is a temporary employment position that has the potential to become a permanent.
Work schedule:
- Day Shift: 6:30 am to 4 pm
- 2nd shift: 4pm to 12:30 am
Scope: To complete all work in the time allowed on the Work Order.
Requirements:
- Minimum - High School degree or equivalent, or prior experience in similar position.
- Able to lift 30 pounds routinely.
- Ability to precisely measure lengths using tape measures in feet, inches, fractional inches, decimal inches, and metrics.
- Ability to measure using calipers preferred.
- Capable of reading and understanding Bills of Materials, Drawings, Production and Quality documents, written and verbal assembly instructions.
- Basic understanding of wire sizes and types.
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand rudimentary English language.
- Able to count to 1000 and count bundles of 10.
- Learn and become proficient in working to IPC620A standards.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Using company documentation (Bills of materials, cut sheets and/or drawings) determine assembly relationships of wires, terminals, and connectors.
- As required, cut and strip wires within tolerances defined either by customer documents or to Cable Quest standards.
- Hand crimp wires to company and IPC620A standards
- Plug wires per Order Traveler documents and to company Quality standards.
- Perform quality checks at defined intervals during the production cycle and report any deviations found.
- Report any Bill of Material errors, shortages, or inventory errors to department supervisor.
- Complete all assigned tasks on time within allowed production hours.
- Participate in the improvement of efficiency in the company by being attentive to and suggesting improvements in methods or procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand, sit, and/or walk for up to 8 hours.
- Able to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, crouch, and climb.
- Able to push, pull, and lift from up to 30lbs and occasionally 50lbs.
- Able to use hands repetitively for up to 8 hours; grasping, turning, and fine manipulation.
- Able to use a variety of hand tools and operate machinery for up to 8 hours.
- Able to read, write, measure, and distinguish color.
- Able to wear all required Personal Protection Equipment such as safety goggles and closed toed shoes while on the production floor.
Goals:
- 100% accuracy of assembled parts.
- 100% accuracy of required quantity.
- Produce orders on time within the allowed production hours.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
