What are the responsibilities and job description for the Digital Content and Creative Specialist position at Cabins For You?
About the Role
We are seeking a versatile, tech-savvy Digital Content & Creative Specialist to join our marketing team. This is not a traditional content writer role—we need a full-funnel creator who can take an idea from concept to completion.
In this role, you will research and write engaging content, optimize it for SEO and AI search, design supporting visual assets, publish directly to WordPress, adapt content for social media, and analyze performance using Google Analytics. You will support multiple vacation rental and destination-focused travel brands in the Smoky Mountains and North Georgia regions.
Key Responsibilities
Website Content & SEO:
- Research, write, edit, and publish destination guides, travel articles, local attraction features, seasonal pieces, and blog posts directly in WordPress.
- Apply SEO best practices including keyword targeting, internal linking, meta descriptions, headings, and image alt text.
- Write and format content to perform well in both traditional search engines and AI-driven search environments.
- Maintain, update, and improve a large library of existing evergreen web content to keep it accurate and high-ranking.
Vacation Rental Property Listings:
- Write accurate, conversion-focused descriptions for new vacation rental properties, translating amenities into guest experiences and benefits.
- Continuously update and refresh existing property listings across direct-booking sites and distribution channels as property amenities or positioning change.
- Maintain consistent brand voice, formatting, and quality control across all property profiles.
Social Media & Visual Asset Creation:
- Write, schedule, and publish engaging content for Facebook, Instagram, and other channels across multiple distinct brands.
- Turn articles, destination highlights, property features, photos, and videos into compelling social posts with strong hooks, captions, and calls to action.
- Design brand-appropriate visual assets, social graphics, email marketing visuals, and YouTube thumbnails using tools like Photoshop or Canva.
- Perform basic photo editing, cropping, enhancement, text overlays, and platform-specific image resizing.
Content Performance, Analytics & Reporting:
- Monitor content traffic, engagement, and conversion metrics using Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Search Console.
- Track search performance, clicks, impressions, rankings, and page health over time.
- Prepare clear, concise reports highlighting trends, top-performing assets, and opportunities for content refreshes or expansion.
- Evaluate how content directly contributes to property discovery, site engagement, and booking revenue.
AI-Assisted Workflow & Optimization:
- Use generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) as a daily assistant to accelerate research, outline generation, drafting, social variations, and brainstorming.
- Develop effective prompt workflows to efficiently repurpose content across websites, email, social platforms, and video formats.
- Apply critical human editorial judgment to fact-check, refine, and edit AI outputs to ensure accuracy and brand alignment.
Qualifications & Skills
- Writing & CMS: Strong digital writing/editing skills with hands-on experience publishing in WordPress or similar CMS platforms.
- SEO & Analytics: Knowledge of SEO basics and experience interpreting data in Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console.
- Graphic Design: Proficiency with design tools such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or Express.
- AI Proficiency: Experience using generative AI tools to speed up research, drafting, and content repurposing.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, brands, and deadlines independently.
Preferred Experience (Bonus)
- Background in travel, tourism, hospitality, or vacation rentals.
- Familiarity with the Smoky Mountains, Blue Ridge, Gatlinburg, or surrounding tourism markets.
