WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Full-Time Position (Drug Test and Background Check Clearance Required)
Starting Pay: $70,000-$75,000 annually
As Staff Accountant you will handle various aspects of the financial reporting and accounting close process, as well as preparation of various accruals and account reconciliations.
This position reports directly to VP of Finance. This person will be a motivated team player with excellent written skills, communication skills, Excel skills, ability to multi-task, and remain organized in a manufacturing industry. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who can independently handle complex accounting tasks, ensure compliance with regulations, and contribute to the strategic financial goals of the organization.
- Lead various aspects of accounting month-end close and financial reporting process, including creating & maintaining journal entries and analysis.
- Responsible for conducting monthly & quarterly balance sheet reconciliations, such as prepaids, expense accruals, loan and interest activity, and bank reconciliations, with minimal oversight.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP standards.
- Review and analysis of all general ledger accounts for accuracy.
- Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and conduct variance analysis on the prior period comparison
- Regular collaboration and communication with finance and operational departments to ensure an understanding of business activities that will impact responsible areas of accounting to validate financial data and generate clear, accurate reports.
- Develop and maintain accurate records and detailed tied-out work papers including standard working procedure for each task.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulatory requirements including Quarterly US Census
- Proactively identify areas and recommend strategies to enhance financial workflows.
- Perform quarterly variance analysis
- Maintain detailed financial documentation and ensure internal controls are properly followed.
- Assist with tax preparation activities, including corporate and sales tax filings.
- Assist with year-end financial and various audit requests.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- 3 years of accounting experience.
- BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred.
- CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Proficient computer software and database skills.
- Proficient with Excel, MS Word, Outlook
- Sage Intacct knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills in a proactive, team-oriented approach.
- Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, ensure accuracy and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and organizational skills.
