Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Cabinet Design and Sales role based in Cedar Rapids, IA. The person in this role will meet with clients in the showroom and at project sites to understand their needs, measure spaces, and translate requirements into functional cabinet designs. Daily responsibilities include creating design layouts and 3D renderings, preparing detailed proposals and quotes, and presenting options for materials, finishes, and hardware. The role involves managing the sales process from initial consultation through order placement, coordinating with suppliers and installers, and following up to ensure customer satisfaction. The individual will also maintain product knowledge, update displays, and support general showroom operations. Ability to earn $100K with base pay and commission.
Qualifications
- Ability to convert client needs into practical cabinet layouts using design tools or CAD software, with a strong sense of space planning and aesthetics.
- Experience managing a sales cycle, including consultative selling, preparing quotes, and closing sales while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to conduct client consultations, explain design concepts, and collaborate with installers and vendors.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects, track orders, and meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of construction or remodeling processes, cabinet product lines, and materials; willingness to learn technical specifications.
- Comfort working in a showroom environment, including greeting visitors, maintaining displays, and representing the company professionally on-site.
- Proficiency with common office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets) and ability to learn industry-specific design or ordering systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in interior design, architecture, or related fields is preferred.
- Prior experience in cabinet design, kitchen and bath design, or building materials sales is an asset but not strictly required.
