Kitchen Cabinet Sales Designer

Cabinet IQ – Portland, OR

Full-Time | In-Person

About Cabinet IQ

Cabinet IQ is a growing kitchen and bath company serving homeowners, contractors, and design professionals throughout the Portland metro area.

We recently opened a brand-new, 2,200-square-foot showroom in Lake Oswego featuring fully built kitchen displays, current cabinet styles and finishes, countertops, hardware, and the latest products from our cabinet lines. It gives our designers a professional, high-end environment to meet with clients, present designs, make selections, and sell complete projects.

We specialize in designing whole-home cabinetry and countertops, working across a range of projects from straightforward kitchen renovations to larger custom homes.

For the right designer, this is an opportunity to work from one of the premier kitchen cabinet showrooms in the Portland area while having the products, technology, support, and earning opportunity to build a strong book of business.

About the Role

This role is for an experienced cabinet designer who is equally comfortable selling, designing, and guiding clients through major home investments.

You’ll join Cabinet IQ as the third designer on a tight-knit team with decades of combined kitchen and cabinetry experience. You’ll be surrounded by people who know this industry, enjoy working together, share knowledge, and take pride in doing great work. We’ve built a collaborative environment where designers can learn from each other while still owning their individual clients, pipeline, and results.

As a Kitchen Cabinet Sales Designer, you’ll own the client relationship from the first consultation and field measure through design, proposal, and close. You’ll work directly with homeowners and contractors and be responsible for keeping your opportunities moving forward.

You’ll spend your time meeting with clients in our Lake Oswego showroom and in their homes, designing in 2020 Design, presenting solutions, building proposals, and closing projects.

This role is for someone who knows cabinetry, takes pride in clean and accurate design work, enjoys being part of an experienced team, and wants to be rewarded for both their design ability and their ability to sell.

Please note: This is a kitchen cabinet design position. General interior design experience without professional cabinet design and 2020 Design experience does not meet the requirements for this role.

What You’ll Do

* Own and manage your sales pipeline, proactively following up on opportunities and driving projects to close

* Lead client consultations in our Lake Oswego showroom, in clients’ homes, and virtually to understand their project, style, needs, and budget

* Perform accurate field measurements and evaluate existing job-site conditions

* Design kitchens, baths, and whole-home cabinetry projects in 2020 Design, producing accurate layouts, elevations, renderings, and detailed plans

* Apply your knowledge of cabinetry, space planning, functionality, and product options to develop solutions that work for each client

* Build accurate proposals and clearly communicate project pricing and scope

* Present designs and product selections confidently and guide clients through decisions

* Maintain consistent follow-up with leads, proposals, and active clients

* Produce clean, accurate cabinet and countertop orders ready for production

* Coordinate with vendors, installers, and our internal team as projects move from design through ordering and installation

* Maintain accurate client records, project details, and pipeline activity in our CRM

* Communicate proactively with clients throughout the process and provide a high level of service

* Help maintain the showroom and create a professional experience for every client who walks through the door

What You’ll Bring

* Hands-on professional kitchen and cabinet design experience using 2020 Design (Cyncly / Design Flex). This is a core requirement for the role.

* Ideally 3 years of kitchen and cabinet design experience, although we’re open to someone with 1 years who has strong 2020 skills, a proven ability to learn quickly, and the drive to perform.

* A strong understanding of cabinet construction, kitchen layouts, space planning, field measurements, and the details required to produce accurate, order-ready designs.

* A team-first attitude. We’re a small, experienced, close-knit group, and how you work with the people around you matters just as much as what you can produce individually.

* A self-starter mentality with the ability to take ownership of opportunities, follow up consistently, and keep your pipeline moving without needing to be managed every step of the way.

* Confidence working directly with homeowners and contractors, presenting designs, discussing budgets, and asking for the sale.

* Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple active projects without sacrificing accuracy or client communication.

* Comfort working across a range of projects and price points, from straightforward kitchen renovations to larger custom projects.

* Reliable transportation for in-home consultations and field measurements throughout the Portland metro area.

Compensation & Growth

$60,000 – $120,000 per year, consisting of base salary plus uncapped commission. Your earning potential grows directly with your performance and the business you produce.

Benefits include unlimited paid time off, company holidays, and a 401(k) retirement plan.

You’ll be joining a growing company and an experienced design team with the opportunity to build a strong book of business, earn without a commission ceiling, and grow your role as Cabinet IQ continues to expand throughout the Portland market.

How to Apply

Please submit your resume to jenn.showers@cabinetiq.com along with a brief description of your kitchen and cabinet design experience, including your experience working in 2020 Design (Cyncly / Design Flex).

If you have a portfolio or examples of kitchens, baths, or cabinetry projects you’ve designed, we’d love to see them, but a portfolio is not required to apply. We understand that designers currently working for another company may not have access to work they can share.

For candidates who move forward in the interview process, we’ll spend time discussing your design experience, sales approach, and the types of cabinetry projects you’ve worked on. You may also be asked to demonstrate your ability to work in 2020 Design as part of the process.
