Job Title: Equipment Operator / Skilled Laborer
Location: New Orleans Airport – Kenner, LA
Compensation: $21.03 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM sometimes rotating to night shift 5:00pm - 2:00 am
A reputable commercial construction company is seeking a skilled worker with experience operating a backhoe and forklift, as well as some general carpentry background. This full-time position offers the opportunity to train on additional equipment over time.
Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes and forklifts safely and efficiently
- Perform general carpentry tasks as needed
- Perform general labor tasks as needed such as setting up safe work areas near conveyor systems, assisting iron workers and extending water lines to allow for hydroblasting.
- Support construction and maintenance projects at the New Orleans Airport
- Follow safety procedures and site protocols
Requirements:
- Proven experience with backhoe and forklift operation
- Basic carpentry skills
- MUST Have a Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass the following:
- Pre-employment drug screen
- Airport fingerprinting/background check (must have no violent, felony, sexual, or theft-related offenses)
- Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check
