What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodial Assistant position at Cabell County Public Library?
SUMMARY: Entry-level custodial position responsible for regularly assigned upkeep of library facilities including the Main library.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. 1. Cleans, dusts, mops, vacuums and provides general custodial care for assigned area of library building.
2. Empties outside book drops and transports books to the circulation desk.
3. Collects and disposes of trash.
4. Sets up/takes down library meeting rooms for scheduled events as indicated by room calendar.
5. Mows grass and rakes up clippings; removes weeds from flower beds as needed.
6. Keeps walkways, steps, and parking spaces swept and clear.
7. Assists maintenance staff in completing scheduled and emergency repairs.
8. Performs other reasonably related duties (with appropriate accommodation if necessary) as assigned by immediate supervisor and other administration as required.
a. Makes minor electrical and mechanical repairs on equipment, tools, and buildings.
b. Assists other library staff in project work by moving furnishings, preparing display and program areas, transporting supplies, and cleaning up areas after use.
REQUIREMENTS: Valid driver's license
Ability to read and comprehend information on SDS
Physically able to lift up to 40-lb from floor level to above the waist.
Able to follow verbal instructions and work without constant supervision
Minimum one-year custodial experience (preferred)
EDUCATION: High school diploma or G.E.D. required.

Pay: From $13.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 18 per week
