Hours: 8:00 - 5:00 Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
The Patient Support Specialist will be responsible for preparing, maintaining, and processing records, logs, and files; scheduling appointments; and performing data entry for the Clinical Services Division. Performs complex clerical duties under regular supervision.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Registers patients by checking them in and out in a timely and professional manner
- Verifies patient insurance coverage and eligibility
- Collects co-payments in accordance with office policies
- Schedules and confirms patient appointments
Education/Experience:
- Any combination of education and clerical experience equivalent to graduation from high school
- Fluent in both written and oral English and Spanish
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word, SharePoint, Excel, and Publisher
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and administrative support techniques
- Knowledge of business English, spelling and basic arithmetic
- Ability to apply policies and procedures accurately
- Must be able to perform arithmetic calculations and prepare forms as well as statistical tables
- Accurate typing and date entry skills with attention to detail
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, and the general public
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
