What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mathematics Teacher position at Cabarrus County Schools?
Staff for the new Healthcare Innovation Microschool at Jay M. Robinson High School will support the development of new programming and instructional opportunities for students of Cabarrus county. As this is a new endeavor, flexibility, curiosity, and adaptability are essential to a successful program.
While on campus, staff will support students through in-person instruction in Math I and Math 3. They will also provide instructional support for students completing pre-built math coursework from CVA. This includes teaching mini lessons and working with small groups/individuals. Staff will collaborate with the Program Director to build explicit coursework connections between math standards and healthcare innovation trends. Staff will facilitate hands-on, problem-based learning opportunities that function as a model of experiential, career-connected learning.
Staff will cultivate and sustain strong partnerships with students, families, and community partners to expand the impact of the microschool. Staff will maintain accurate data to monitor and support a cohort of student advisees within the program; this will include regularly scheduled check-ins to support their academic and personal growth.
Staff will travel with students to The Pearl weekly to engage in learning opportunities with industry partners. While off campus, staff will provide instructional support and supervision to students in the program.
Staff must maintain active licensure for 9-12 courses.
Experience implementing problem-based learning in the classroom is preferred.
Willingness to obtain a CDL is required.
Professional development opportunities will be provided to keep staff informed of trends in healthcare innovation, AI, and experiential learning.
