Employment Type: Full time Shift: Description: Reporting to the Lab Manager, this position is responsible for coordinating and directly supervising the technical activities of the Anatomic Pathology section and for assisting the pathologist in the performance of surgical pathology, cytology, and gross photography. Requirements 1. High school diploma or equivalent is required. 2. Bachelor's Degree is preferred. 3. Certification by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) as a Histologic Technician is required. 4. Patience, mechanical ability, functional knowledge of anatomy, chemistry, and physiology is required. 5. Experience in enzyme histochemistry and immunoperoxidase stains is required. 6. Accuracy, reliability, working well under pressure and ability to finish a task once started, communicate well, both oral and written is required. 7. Good hand/eye coordination, speed with accuracy and good mental concentration is preferred. 8. Approved training in a histology program, with three to five years of experience as a histotechnologist/histotechnician is required. 9. Minimum of three years of supervisory/management experience is required.
