Job Description And Duties
Under the direction of the Correctional Counselor II Supervisor (CCII) and indirect supervision of the Facility Captain (FC), the Correctional Counselor I (CCI) interviews the incarcerated person to gather information, reads, evaluates, reviews, and summarizes reports from a variety of sources to assist in classification of the incarcerated person. The CCI is responsible for the protection of the community, staff and incarcerated people through the classification process, incarcerated people counseling and through the enforcement of the facility policies, Rules and Regulations of the Director of Corrections, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitations (CDCR) policies and procedures as stipulated in the California Code of Regulations Title 15, Department Operations Manual and any other applicable rules, law and regulations.

These positions are being advertised Limited term 12 month s; may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.

Individuals who are eligibile for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position.

Statement Of Qualifications
