C4 is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to assist one of our clients on a 6 month contract in Harlan, IA. Both local and traveling candidates accepted. Per Diem is available for traveling candidates.
Position Overview
The Maintenance Supervisor oversees daily maintenance operations, leading and developing a team of maintenance technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. Representing C4, this role is responsible for scheduling work, supervising staff, resolving equipment issues, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and supporting production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, schedule, and develop maintenance personnel.
- Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical equipment issues.
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs.
- Monitor maintenance performance to minimize downtime, reduce costs, and maximize production efficiency.
- Prepare maintenance documentation and operational reports.
- Maintain effective working relationships with production teams and USDA inspectors.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure product quality.
Qualifications
- 3 years of maintenance supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with pumps, valves, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and process/packaging equipment.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Proficient with computer software (MS Office and maintenance systems).
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
- Ammonia refrigeration experience/certification preferred.
- USDA-regulated manufacturing experience and technical certifications are a plus.
Pay: $70.00 - $80.00 per hour
