This leadership role is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and documenting the commissioning of critical HVAC systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient turnover to operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong LNG, petrochemical, refinery, or industrial commissioning experience and be capable of leading field personnel while working closely with engineering, construction, operations, and client representatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commissioning, startup, testing, balancing, and turnover of HVAC systems supporting LNG process and utility facilities.
- Develop and execute commissioning procedures, functional test scripts, check sheets, punch lists, and turnover documentation.
- Coordinate daily commissioning activities with construction, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls, and operations teams.
- Perform equipment walkdowns, verify mechanical completion, resolve deficiencies, and ensure systems are ready for startup.
- Oversee functional testing of chillers, air handling units (AHUs), package units, exhaust systems, pressurization systems, VAVs, dampers, controls, and associated HVAC equipment.
- Review P&IDs, HVAC drawings, control narratives, equipment datasheets, and vendor documentation.
- Support integrated system testing, troubleshooting, and final acceptance activities.
- Ensure all commissioning activities are performed in accordance with project procedures, quality standards, and site safety requirements.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor commissioning technicians, and maintain accurate commissioning records.
- 8 years of HVAC experience in industrial facilities, with significant commissioning and startup experience.
- Previous LNG, refinery, petrochemical, power generation, or large industrial project experience.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment, mechanical systems, building pressurization, ventilation, chilled water systems, and controls.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, one-line drawings, HVAC schematics, and construction documents.
- Experience with commissioning documentation, turnover packages, and completion management systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and commissioning documentation software.

- Previous Lead HVAC Commissioning experience on an LNG export facility.
- Experience with TAB (Testing, Adjusting & Balancing) activities.
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and DDC controls.
- OSHA 10 certification.
- Strong understanding of commissioning best practices and safe work procedures.
