CLIENT ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST – FULL-TIME (or Part-Time)

C² Accounting | In-Office | $25–$31/hour

C² Accounting is looking for a full-time or part-time Client Accounting Specialist to support small business and nonprofit clients with accurate, timely, care-centered bookkeeping.

This role is ideal for an experienced QuickBooks Online bookkeeper who enjoys clean systems, clear communication, recurring client work, and helping business owners feel more confident about their numbers. Depending on experience, this role may also support cleanup work, payroll coordination, sales tax workflows, budgeting, nonprofit bookkeeping, client onboarding, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage recurring weekly and monthly bookkeeping workflows for assigned clients.
• Review, code, and categorize transactions in QuickBooks Online with accuracy and consistency.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, and other balance sheet accounts as assigned.
• Complete monthly close checklists and prepare basic reporting packages for review.
• Identify missing documentation, unusual transactions, duplicate entries, and potential misclassifications.
• Draft clear, kind, and professional client questions and follow-up messages.
• Escalate unclear or higher-risk items to the appropriate C² reviewer.
• Support client onboarding, cleanup work, payroll coordination, sales tax workflows, budgeting, and nonprofit bookkeeping depending on experience.
• Follow C² Accounting SOPs, email and documentation standards, workflow deadlines, and client care expectations.
• Help improve recurring processes as C² Accounting continues to grow.

Required Qualifications

• 3 years of bookkeeping, client accounting, or small business accounting experience preferred.
• Strong QuickBooks Online experience.
• Experience completing bank and credit card reconciliations independently.
• Ability to manage recurring monthly deadlines across multiple clients.
• Clear written communication and comfort asking clients for missing information.
• Comfortable meeting with clients virtually.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow documented processes.
• High integrity with confidential client financial information.
• Calm, teachable, dependable, and comfortable working in a small-firm environment.

Preferred Qualifications for Stronger Candidates

• 5 years of bookkeeping or client accounting experience.
• QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification or willingness to complete it after hire.
• Experience managing multiple bookkeeping clients at once.
• Experience with monthly close, cleanup projects, payroll, sales tax, budgeting, and nonprofit bookkeeping.
• Ability to spot P&L and balance sheet issues before review.
• Comfortable communicating directly with clients and managing follow-up items.
• Ability to help improve SOPs, train others, or support client onboarding.

Position Snapshot

• Compensation: $25–$31/hour, depending on experience, demonstrated skill, and level of client accounting ownership
• Location: C² may consider qualified candidates in the western Twin Cities / Chanhassen area and the greater Menomonee Falls / Waukesha County area, depending on final office setup and leadership needs
• Work Arrangement: In-office
• Primary Systems: QuickBooks Online, workflow/document systems, Microsoft/Zoom communication tools, and secure password management
• Working Genius: The final 2–3 candidates will complete The Working Genius Assessment from The Table Group. C² is particularly looking for Galvanizing and Tenacity behaviors, and the assessment will be used as one input alongside the scorecard, practical exercise, interviews, references, and background check.

Benefits Summary

• Nine paid holidays: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
• 80 hours of combined PTO for full-time employees, accrued per hour worked, with carryover capped at 80 hours.
