West Lafayette Medical Center 915 Sagamore Parkway W West Lafayette, Indiana 47906 At Franciscan Urgent Care, our MRI Technologists work closely with patients to ensure they understand the MRI procedure and are comfortable and safe during procedures. The MRI technologist will perform injection procedures, including administering gadolinium contrast dosage intravenously. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Monday - Friday 8a-6p Provide direct patient care. Practice established safety guidelines and uses MRI safety tools and techniques. Ensures the safety of both patients and staff regarding MRI. Equipment Sterilization and Maintenance Collaborate on patient medical issues with the physician to determine protocol and procedure. Obtain and record patient identification and medical history, including history of ferrous implants and other possible contraindication for MRI. Complete all necessary screening and history forms. Review and update patient documentation in EMR and PACS. Perform venous punctures using universal precautions for the administration of contrast media. Restock examination room with necessary inventory. Inform appropriate parties when inventory is needed.
