Patient Care Technician I

Franciscan Health Lafayette East Campus 1701 S Creasy Ln Lafayette, Indiana 47905 Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, the PCT I at Franciscan performs delegated patient care activities in a manner that is aligned with the age-specific and beneficial needs of the patient. PCT I is an entry level position whose job functions include providing Activities of Daily Living, data collection, patient transporting, and answering calls. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Perform activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, oral care, grooming (shaving), urinary catheter and ostomy care; assist with meals and feeding; assist with positioning, ambulation, and mobilization; assist with elimination and toileting. Screening/Collection/Recording data & information: vital signs, intake & output, weights, specimen collection. Restock patient room and unit supplies, perform equipment checks. Transport patients by wheelchair, cart, bed, bassinet. Answer patient call-lights, telephones, Vocera. Qualifications Preferred High School Diploma/GED Nursing student after having completed 1st semester of clinicals Required Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Required Prior PCT experience in another acute care health care organization Required After completion of Franciscan PCT In-training program Required Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association Franciscan will provide BLS training and recertification as needed.
