WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT PRN flexibility This is a busy cardiology practice operating Monday-Friday, 7:30am- 4:30pm Professional development opportunities Provide a more personal approach to direct patient care in a variety of outpatient settings, which may include: rooming patients, taking vitals, obtaining a comprehensive medical history, document care of patient via electronic medical record, administering vaccines, injections, and medications, phlebotomy, point of care testing and medication reconciliation under the supervision of RN/Provider. Gather requirements from internal and external customers and provide information via phone, electronic messaging and in person. Initiate and follow through on prior authorizations, referrals, and process sample medications, prescriptions, and refills as directed QUALIFICATIONS Required High School Diploma/GED Required completion of a Medical Assisting program; In lieu of program, 5 years of medical assistant experience is required Basic Life Support Program (BLS) certification - American Heart Association- within 90 days of hire For an MA, you must have one of the following certifications within 6 months of hire: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Allied Health or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Registry of Medical Assistants or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) – National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) – National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Performance Specialists (NPS) TRAVEL IS REQUIRED: Up to 20% EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER It is the policy of Franciscan Alliance to provide equal employment to its employees and qualified applicants for employment as otherwise required by an applicable local, state or Federal law.
