What are the responsibilities and job description for the Precision Grinder position at C&W Grinding?
We're looking for someone who may be new to grinding, but not new to manufacturing. If you have a strong foundation, a hunger to learn, and the work ethic to back it up — we want to talk.
What you'll do
- Set up and operate OD grinding equipment for precision work
- Set up and perform ID grinding processes
- Operate lathes and other precision machining equipment
- Inspect finished parts to verify quality and dimensional accuracy
- Learn multiple machines, setups, and manufacturing processes
- Hold tight tolerances to ±.0005"
What you'll need
- Proficient use of precision measuring tools — mics, bore gauges, and related instruments for diameter measurement
- Solid manufacturing background with a general understanding of machining principles
- Genuine willingness to learn new processes, equipment, and setups
- Strong work ethic and dependable follow-through
- Positive attitude and a team-first approach to the shop floor
Nice to have
- Prior experience on OD or ID grinding equipment
- Lathe operation experience
- Familiarity with aerospace, automotive, or other close-tolerance environments
Experience is something we can build together. What we can't teach is attitude and drive — bring those, and we'll handle the rest.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
