Overview
We are seeking an experienced, dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent patient service abilities, and experience working in outpatient clinics. The Certified Medical Assistant will be instrumental in providing high-quality support to providers and patients while ensuring smooth clinic operations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform patient intake procedures, including recording vital signs and updating medical histories
- Assist with patient examinations and procedures in outpatient settings
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment
- Administer medications and injections following provider orders
- Document patient information accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Assist with diagnostic procedures such as venipunctures and laboratory tests
- Monitor patient status during treatment or procedures, including basic life support if necessary
- Coordinate patient scheduling, referrals and follow-up appointments to ensure efficient clinic flow
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions and ensuring comfort throughout visits
Requirements
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required
- Minimum 2 years prior experience as a clinical medical assistant in urgent care or other outpatient clinic is required.
- Familiarity with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions
- Basic life support (BLS) certification
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration protocols
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments
- Excellent patient service skills with compassionate communication abilities
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation and clinical tasks
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
