Pay: Daily rate $200
Work Days: Tuesday-Friday and Sunday
What You’ll Do
As a Class A CDL Driver, you will be responsible for transporting inventory from our distribution hub in Huntsville to Montgomery and Mississippi. This position requires excellent driving skills, the ability to handle heavy loads, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a semi-truck in accordance with DOT regulations and company standards.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, or other equipment as necessary
- Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including any discrepancies or issues encountered
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure accurate loading and unloading of goods
Qualifications:
- Valid Class A Alabama Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no recent major violations.
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 1–2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
- Proficiency in electronic logging software and standard GPS navigation systems.
- Strong backing skills for navigating tight distribution center docks.
- Ability to drive safely through variable weather and night conditions.
Physical Requirements
- Sit for extended periods of time while operating the vehicle.
- Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally if freight adjusting is required.
- Climb in and out of the tractor cab and trailer multiple times daily.
