Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and versatile General Maintenance Person to join our team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of facilities, equipment, and infrastructure across commercial properties. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment by performing a wide range of tasks that require mechanical aptitude, electrical knowledge, and hands-on skills. Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical repairs, carpentry, painting, and general troubleshooting to ensure facilities operate smoothly.
- Conduct inspections of buildings and equipment using schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to identify issues early.
- Carry out welding and mechanical repairs as needed to support ongoing operations or property improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Assist with facilities upgrades or renovations, including residential painting and minor construction projects.
- Supervise or coordinate with contractors or team members during larger repair or installation projects to ensure quality standards are met.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing tenant or client concerns promptly and professionally.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical systems, or mechanical equipment to prevent accidents.
Experience
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field within manufacturing, residential, or commercial environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in welding, electrical systems, schematics interpretation, and troubleshooting using tools like ohmmeters.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and electrical experience is highly desirable.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience overseeing maintenance teams or projects is preferred.
- Knowledge of CMMS software for work order management and maintenance tracking.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with team members and clients alike.
