About C-STEM
C-STEM Teacher & Student Support Services is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to Communications STEM (C-STEM) learning for students historically underrepresented in STEM fields. Through hands-on projects, robotics challenges, and creative design experiences, C-STEM camps help students develop problem-solving skills, engineering thinking, collaboration, and confidence.
Our summer camps provide engaging, project-based STEM learning experiences that integrate art, robotics, prototyping, engineering design, coding, AI concepts, and creative innovation challenges.
Position Overview
C-STEM is seeking dynamic, engaging educators to lead summer STEM camps for elementary- and middle-school students. Teachers will facilitate hands-on learning using C-STEM curriculum and toolkits, guiding students through engineering challenges, robotics activities, and collaborative problem-solving projects.
Teachers will create an exciting and supportive learning environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Facilitation
• Update, Prep, and Deliver C-STEM summer camp curriculum and activity toolkits for hands-on learning activities
• Facilitate learning, engagement, and fund using C-STEM instructional slides,, handouts, curriculum and toolkits
• Guide students through project-based and problem-solving activities
• Encourage teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking among students
• Support students in completing projects and experiencing success with learning
• Distribute surveys to campers
• Take pictures and videos of campers participating in activities
Classroom & Camp Management
• Maintain a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment
• Manage large and small groups of students during hands-on activities
• Ensure materials and equipment are used safely and responsibly
• Adapt lessons to support diverse learning styles and grade levels
Collaboration
• Work closely with camp coordinators and fellow instructors
• Participate in training prior to camp implementation
• Support preparation and organization of materials and learning kits
• Assist with end-of-camp student wrap-up
• Restock and return of inventory used daily or weekly as applicable
• Participate in Camp debrief
• Compile survey reports from camps
Desired Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Education
• Experience working with elementary or middle school students
• Experience and ability to facilitate hands-on STEM project-base and problem-based learning experiences
Preferred
• Certified teacher or experienced educator
• Experience teaching STEM, robotics, coding, or engineering concepts
• Experience with project-based and problem-based learning environments
• Experience leading camps, after-school programs, or STEM enrichment programs

Training
All selected instructors will receive orientation that covers C-STEM curriculum, instructional resources, and activity kits prior to the start of camp.
