About the Opportunity
C Staff Placement & Consulting is seeking an experienced Sanitation Supervisor for a leading food manufacturing facility in Chicago. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the sanitation team, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant production environment.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in sanitation management within food manufacturing, with the ability to lead, train, and motivate teams while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the sanitation team.
- Ensure all cleaning and sanitation tasks meet FDA, USDA, GMP, and HACCP standards.
- Develop and maintain sanitation schedules for all production areas and equipment.
- Conduct pre-operational inspections and verify proper cleaning and documentation.
- Maintain accurate sanitation records, chemical inventories, and safety data sheets (SDS).
- Train and coach team members on cleaning procedures, chemical handling, and safety practices.
- Partner with Quality Assurance and Maintenance teams to identify and resolve sanitation concerns.
- Support audits and inspections by ensuring sanitation readiness and compliance at all times.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
3 years of sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment (supervisory experience strongly preferred).
Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety compliance.
Experience leading teams in a fast-paced production facility.
Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings or weekends, if needed.
