The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing various accounting functions, including cost allocations, lease accounting, commission accounting, month-end close, account reconciliation, and department analysis. Responsibilities
- Cost Allocations: Ensure accurate and timely allocation of costs across lines of business and legal entities, maintaining detailed records and supporting documentation.
- Lease Accounting: Manage lease accounting processes, including properly calculating and recording right of use assets, lease liabilities and lease expense, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Commission Accounting: Oversee commission accounting, including proper accrual and deferral, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards
- Month-End Close Responsibilities: Responsible for certain month-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and generating financial reports.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Department Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis of various departments, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications
- REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- CPA or CPA eligible.
- PREFERRED
- Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screen, as well as a telephone. Must be able to work a flexible schedule shared by other department members including some evenings and weekends.
